CITY HALL
The spacious City Hall Complex houses City Hall, Growth Management and the Police Department. The plaza, with its decorative fountain, is often used as a venue for musical and social events. The posts throughout the plaza display art on canvas banners, created by students at the Dreyfoos School of the Arts. The colorful, beautiful banners are updated regularly. City Hall Lobby is a spacious area that also doubles as a function space and informal meeting area. As part of the Art in Public Places program, the lobby is home to a hanging sculpture. The lobby walls serve as an art gallery, featuring collections from local artists.
POLICE DEPARTMENT
The Palm Beach Gardens Police Department is a multi-faceted agency with over 115 sworn personnel and 35 non-sworn personnel. We are committed to maintaining an outstanding quality of life for our citizens in an effective and efficient manner. We are a growing progressive agency in a dynamic signature city with state of the art equipment and a well trained work force. We believe in professional excellence which has allowed us to maintain our International accreditation since 1995. We are currently dually accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) and the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, Inc. (CFA). We are also the proud recipient of many prestigious awards for our traffic enforcement and safety programs, our youth programs, and our community outreach.
FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Palm Beach Gardens Fire Rescue Department operates Five Fire Stations utilizing 120 staff members, to provide Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Prevention and Education services to the residents and guests of Palm Beach Gardens. The department staffs five fire engines, five rescue units and two supervisor units 24 hours a day 365 days per year. Three of the departments? fire engines are equipped with paramedics and equipment, which speeds the availability of advanced medical care when a rescue unit is out of zone or busy on another call. The department was the first City in Palm Beach County to receive CFAI Fire Accreditation in early 2006 and is a leader in service delivery.
RECREATION
The City of Palm Beach Gardens Recreation Division strives to provide quality, diverse recreational programs and opportunities for the community we serve. We strive to enhance the quality of life for all participants through recreation, sports, leisure and cultural activities. We place a high value on customer service while maintaining fiscal responsibility to the residents through sound management. To supplement the diverse amount of programs offered, we welcome participants from surrounding communities. Palm Beach Gardens has an extensive recreation program and several municipal facilities.
GOLF
If you love golf, Palm Beach Gardens is the place to be! The City is home to 15 golf courses. Perhaps the oldest and most famous is PGA National, with five tournament-ready courses designed by Nicklaus, Palmer, the Fazios and Karl Litten. It is home to the PGA of America and the venerable Honda Classic. PGA National has hosted more major championships than any other venue in the country, including the 1983 Ryder Cup Matches, the 1987 PGA Championship and 18 Senior PGA Championships.
The Palm Beach Gardens Municipal Golf Course is a challenging test of golf carved out of the beautiful Loxahatchee Nature Preserve. Renovated and upgraded in summer 2006, this Par 72, Roy Case designed course is one of the only golf courses in Florida that winds through natural preserved and wetlands areas. It plays to 6,500 yards through southern pines, palm trees, and marsh land while making defined elevation challenges - giving breathtaking views, quality golf and still being affordable!
SHOPPING AND DINING
Palm Beach Gardens boasts some of the best shopping and dining in the area. The Gardens Mall is nationally known, along with more recent additions of Downtown at the Gardens and Legacy Place. Several smaller shopping plazas with specialty shops and boutiques are interspersed throughout the City. In addition, we are but a short drive to Palm Beach?s famous Worth Avenue and City Place in West Palm Beach.
NEARBY BEACHES AND PARKS
The City of Palm Beach Gardens is a short distance from some of the cleanest, most beautiful stretches of public beach anywhere. A wonderful combination of recreation and marine life, our area beaches are an important haven for Sea Turtle nesting and other wildlife. In addition there are several natural preserves, and parks, where visitors can commune with nature. Fishing, kayaking, bird-watching and hiking are among the available activities.
PALM BEACH COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Palm Beach Gardens is located in close proximity to several public and private colleges and universities. Palm Beach Community College is located in the heart of the City. The Eissey campus, sitting on 120 acres in Palm Beach Gardens, opened in 1982 as a permanent, full-time facility offering associate in arts and associate in science degrees, as well as certificate programs. PBCC at Palm Beach Gardens offers credit and noncredit courses, programs and workshops. The campus also features modern multimedia classrooms and laboratories, a horticultural nursery, community athletic fields, the 250-seat Alfred W. Meldon Lecture Hall and an art gallery. A new 80,000 square foot BioScience Technology building is under construction. PBCC has over 48,000 students enrolled in over 100 programs of study including associate in arts and associate in science degrees and short-term certificates
EISSEY CAMPUS THEATER
The 750-seat Edward M. Eissey Campus Theater is a cultural hub for northern Palm Beach County, presenting community educational programs as well as family entertainment through its popular "Arts in the Gardens" guest artist series. Both the theatre and campus house art galleries highlighting student, faculty and community works of art.
